Minisforum showcased the new flagship mini PC MS-S1 MAX-P495, which is not only suitable for daily tasks, but also suitable for local release of large AI models. Thanks to the 192 GB of combined memory, the device is even able to work with LLMs with a capacity of up to 300 billion parameters.
The system is based on AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, a 16-core 32-thread processor based on Zen 5 architecture, equipped with Radeon 8060S graphics card and 40 RDNA 3.5 computing units. Compared with the previous Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395, the main advantage is NPU performance: increased from 126 TOPS to 131 TOPS. The mini PC comes with 192 GB of fast LPDDR5X-8533, which can be allocated up to 160 GB to the integrated graphics card.
In terms of storage, there are two M.2 slots that support PCIe 4.0, with a total capacity of up to 16 TB, including RAID 0/1. There’s also a separate PCIe x16 connector that operates in PCIe 4.0 x4 mode, allowing you to install an additional SSD or other expansion card. The set of ports includes two USB4 speeds of up to 40 Gbps, numerous USB Type-A and Type-C, and two 10 Gigabit LANs. Minisforum has not announced a start date for sales, but the device is expected to be available in the near future, with prices starting at $7,000, according to preliminary information.
