However, its integration sometimes negatively affects performancewhich is why its existence is often not greeted with much enthusiasm.
Will Square Enix remove it after release?
Interestingly, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth do not use this DRM. The change in strategy may have to do with the nature of Denuvo: its goal is to protect immediate sales. The first two installments in the trilogy are coming to PC just months after debuting on PlayStation consoles, and Revelations will launch simultaneously on all platforms, making Square Enix even more assured of day one sales.

Therefore, it is possible that the Japanese company will decide to remove Denuvo after some time, as has already happened in the past. Final Fantasy XVI and Dragon Quest VII Reimaged received tamper-proof removal notices about six months after release, and Revelations will likely repeat the same.
“Final Fantasy 7: Revelations” will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC from April 8, 2027. After launch, two paid expansion packs dedicated to Sephiroth and Vincent are planned.
