Director Zach Craig’s new film adaptation of the Resident Evil horror series promises to have many surprises for fans of the series. Although iconic characters like Leon Kennedy won’t appear in the movie, the creators decided to revisit the classic universe and the actions of the infamous T-Virus.
Speaking to SFX Magazine, Craig noted that the virus works by slightly different rules than its original source, resulting in unique behavioral traits in those infected. To create the terrifying mutants, the director actively enlisted professional circus performers (including members of Cirque du Soleil), which allowed the monsters’ movements on screen to be realistic and frightening. at the same time, the project draws inspiration from the atmosphere Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7focuses on tension and survival.
