Japanese studio Polyphony Digital has stepped up hiring to develop a new project in the popular racing series, which may be called Gran Turismo 8. Against the backdrop of the winding down of active support for Gran Turismo 7, the developer has opened vacancies in a number of areas.
The list of open positions includes positions for online engineers, game logic and artificial intelligence programmers, and technical artists. Of particular note is the job description of a car simulation programmer, tasked with improving a proprietary physics engine and recreating the unique mechanical characteristics of real cars with a higher level of refinement and authenticity.
