Total War: Warhammer 40,000, from British studio Creative Assembly (owned by Sega), is an ambitious galactic strategy game set in a dark future, but it turns out to be a project that serves the gaming format.

Let’s remember that in its financial report in May, Sega announced it was shutting down its ambitious Super Gaming program and reducing its cash investment in gaming services, amid recent failures.
In a recent interview with Japanese media Nikkei Index Sega CEO Shuji Utsumi said the company is continuing to develop multiple gaming services despite reduced support.
Utsumi specifically mentioned the shareware titles Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, SEGA FC Champions 2026, Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage, and the paid version of Total War: Warhammer 40,000.
Utsumi said that “Total War: Warhammer 40,000” is a game service because after Sega released “Plans to continuously expand the game world”how the company does this through gaming services.
Players will lead one of the legendary factions (Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, Imperial Guard) to capture planets, decide the fate of worlds and wield apocalyptic weapons.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is in production for PC (steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. They promise to offer a wide range of personalized, large-scale and destructive tactical combat, translated into Russian and available in closed beta until the end of 2026.
