Despite NVIDIA’s assurances that advanced multi-frame generation (multi-frame generation) is not possible in hardware other than GeForce RTX 50, modders have once again proven the opposite. A fan posted a project DLSSG SM86adapt the original frame generation library directly to the Ampere microarchitecture. Furthermore, this is not another replacement for AMD FSR, but an honest effort to use native “green” algorithms directly on RTX 30 series chips.
The secret lies in a special proxy file that redirects game calls to an Ampere-compatible backend. Additionally, in the beta version, the DLSS 5 algorithm has been enabled to generate up to three intermediate frames per real frame (4X mode).
In practice, we managed to produce nearly 100 frames per second on the RTX 3080 in Cyberpunk 2077 using path tracing. Yes, that means the base render here is about 25 FPS, but the nature of the test is the performance of the MFG, not the final performance.
