During the cyber attack on logistics company CEVA Logistics, hackers also obtained the personal data of Bijenkorf customers. The department store chain confirmed this on Thursday. This includes the name, address and phone number of the person who placed the order online at Bijenkorf.
In early August, CEVA announced that its systems had been hit by a cyberattack. The logistics company handles orders from Bijenkorf. De Bijenkorf previously said it was unclear whether the department store chain’s customer data had been compromised.
“Based on CEVA’s findings, we can now confirm that the system storing customers’ personal data has been accessed by unauthorized persons,” De Bijenkorf reports. “This means customers should assume their personal data is associated with the incident.”
De Bijenkorf did not report how many customers’ information was compromised. Online stores such as Bol and Ajax were also victims of the data breach of their logistics partners.
