Like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both offer Pretty wide selection: On PS5 we find Fidelity and Performance presets, while on PS5 Pro Fidelity Pro, Performance Pro and advanced ray tracing options have been added.
Differences between the two PlayStation consoles
The main differences involve internal resolutionfidelity fluctuates between 2160p and 1440p, performance drops between 1440p and 1080p, and there are variations in the quality of reflections and shadows. In all cases, the native resolution is upscaled to 4K.
Both consoles allow you to launch VRR Unlock frame rate: In unlimited mode, the native resolution may drop below 1080p. The difference is PS5 Pro benefits from PSSRwhich improves image quality and some global illumination effects, especially with advanced ray tracing.
Marvel’s Wolverine review: ‘Insomniac’ unleashes Logan’s claws between gore, linearity and grit
As for performance, the game is still stuck at 30 fps on Fidelity presets and 60 fps on Performance, but using 120Hz and VRR modes you can hit nearly 60 fps on Fidelity and over 100 fps on Performance. Finally, ElAnalistaDeBits recommends playing with Fidelity + VRR Unlimited on PS5 and Fidelity Pro + Advanced RT + VRR Unlimited on PS5 Pro, as advanced ray tracing has minimal impact on performance.
