An enthusiast who goes by the nickname M0jso recently surprised the gaming world by launching a native port of Grand Theft Auto V for the original Nintendo Switch, but he decided not to stop there. Developers have officially announced the development of a native version of the popular Rockstar Games action game for the Android mobile operating system.

Unlike the usual attempts to run the PC version through emulators such as Winlator or Mobox, this project is written directly for the ARM architecture based on the source code of the GTA V Legacy version (v1.0.2699). The authors have shared preliminary system requirements for the first public build. At launch, the port will only run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, with entry points being a Snapdragon 865-class chip, 8 GB of RAM, and around 65 GB of available storage.

As for other chipsets, support for the Mali video core will appear later, but Exynos processors with Xclipse graphics (including the flagship models 2200 to 2600) will be excluded from the first release. The author is currently keeping the exact release date secret, and recalls that questionable rallies in China unrelated to his project have been circulating on the Internet.
