There was little news about Game Pass subscriptions this past gaming week (September 5-12). Previously announced games were added to the gaming service without any surprises and not much was announced. Here are the biggest things happening with Game Pass this week.
New games on Game Pass this week
As far as new products go, the last game subscription week isn’t the most important. We have successfully added the following items:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (Xbox, PC) – Ultimate Edition, Advanced Edition, PC
- Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage (Xbox, PC) — Ultimate Edition, Advanced Edition, PC
- Royal Writ (Xbox, PC) – Ultimate Edition, Advanced Edition, PC
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has become the eighth game in the series to be added to the Game Pass subscription. Let us remind you that starting this year, the new part of the series will not appear in Microsoft services immediately after release.
Game Pass Announcement and Release Date
For Game Pass subscriptions, only one new game is released in a week:
- The Last Guardian – Spring 2027
There are no other subscription announcements. However, rumors emerged this week that Control Resonant will be part of Game Pass upon launch. The news has not yet been officially confirmed.
Additionally, a previously announced Game Pass game also received a release date this week:
- Hela: Of Mice and Magic – December 1, 2026
According to the developers, the project has been added to wish lists more than 1 million times.
Dynamic Game Pass Price Adjustment
Gamers noticed an interesting feature this week that Microsoft is trying to use to retain Game Pass subscribers and keep players using the service for at least a year. The company is starting to offer dynamic pricing for the service, depending on how often players subscribe on a monthly basis.
For example, some players on Reddit said they now get Game Pass Ultimate, which pays $16.09 per month and is valid for the entire year. The regular cost for the Ultimate tier is $22.99. This allows you to save significantly on your service, but you must keep your subscription active throughout the year.
According to player reports, $16.09 is not the only “discounted” price for Game Pass, and some users are also getting smaller discounts.
