Another surprise at the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026 was the official confirmation of a large-scale partnership between Blizzard Entertainment and streaming giant Netflix. The company’s president, Joanna Faris, has announced that a high-budget animated series will be developed in the Diablo universe, bringing the dark atmosphere of “Asylum” to the screen.
While the project’s release date and first footage remain under wraps, Farris stressed that the Netflix deal opens a new chapter for the company as a whole. The leader has publicly hinted that the studio’s other cult franchises could receive similar adaptations in the future – primarily Strike Force and Warcraft. The project will join Netflix’s growing list of successful live-action adaptations, furthering the trend of translating video games into premium animated formats.
