The Galaxy S26 series will only be launched in March, but Samsung may intervene in the price of its smartphones in a few months briefing. The hypothesis comes from South Korea, where industry players are warning retailers that wholesale prices may rise starting October 1.
This news does not yet amount to an official price increase. In fact, Samsung has announced that although it has confirmed this, it has not communicated any clear price increase news. Prices are being evaluated based on increases in parts costs. So the situation remains up in the air.
How much can the price go up?
According to South Korea’s “Hans Economics” report, the increase is expected to be 149,600 won Each model of the Galaxy S26 series is equivalent to approximately 96 euros Calculated at current exchange rate. The price of the 256 GB Galaxy S26 will therefore rise from 1,254,000 won (approx. 807 euros) to 1,403,600 won (approx. 903 euros). For the 256 GB Galaxy S26 Plus, the price will rise from 1,452,000 won (approx. 935 euros) to 1,601,600 won (approx. 1,031 euros). The price of the 256 GB Galaxy S26 Ultra will reach 1,947,000 won, approximately 1,253 euros, compared to the current price of 1,797,400 won, approximately 1,157 euros.
The possible intervention has an unusual feature: It will arrive nearly seven months after the series debuted. The most recent precedent obviously involves Apple, which has also raised some prices on previous models with the launch of the iPhone 18 generation.

Most importantly, the basis for possible increases is Memory and storage space costs. Demand for artificial intelligence data centers is increasing pressure on the supply of advanced components, and Samsung has pointed to the impact of rising semiconductor and logistics costs.
The second rumor involves a foldable device. Previous rumors suggested it was possible Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra prices have also increasedbut this part has not been independently confirmed.
However, it is not yet possible to talk about the global sales growth of Galaxy S26s. There is no indication that the price increase may involve the U.S. or European markets. However, if pressure for parts persists, smartphone price may become a more important factor in the next generation.
