Valve has now launched the Steam Frame VR headset as well. Specific pricing has now been announced, and interested players can pre-register to become one of the first players to own good works.
Last fall, Valve released a slew of new hardware, most notably the famed Steam Machine as a PC console. Additionally, a new Steam Controller is also part of the range, as is the VR headset Steam Frame, which now also has specific information on pricing and pre-orders.
So Valve has now determined the cost of Steam Frame. If you opt for the 256GB storage model, you’ll have to pay €1,059 here. The version with 1 TB of storage costs €1,279.
In both cases, you also get two Steam Frame controllers, 16 GB of unified LPDDR5X RAM, 4 nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – ARM 64 processor, and more. The battery capacity is 21.6 Wh and the display resolution of the VR headset is 2160×2160 pixels. So you can get started right away, a copy of Half-Life: Alyx is included with your purchase of Steam Frame. However: there is no power supply directly on board, but it can be purchased separately for 39 euros. Some background information: The Steam Frame only charges via USB-C, so you can also use other power sources in your home.
In terms of sales, Valve is following the same schedule as the Steam Machine. Early adopter pre-registration is now open and ends on September 17th at 7:00pm. German time. All registrations are then randomly generated and ordered in order, and delivered step by step. Registrations after the specified date will go to the last spot on the waiting list.
