The creators of WitchSpring decided to change the cozy setting of their magical RPG into a more disturbing story. Kiwi Walks has announced Shade of the Marionette: The Story of Piyorita, a story-driven 3D action role-playing game that will be released on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and PC via Steam in 2027.
The main character is Pioletta, a quiet doll who wakes up in a white nest with no emotions or memories. Hearing a familiar voice, she passes through the mirror and enters the hidden room, becoming a true “masterpiece”. To do this, Pioretta must absorb the life force of other dolls, also “failed creations” who compete for the approval of the mysterious voice.
The combat system promises fast-paced action using swords, magic, other weapons, infinite dash, and aim assist. Judging from the description, the new game is decidedly darker than the regular WitchSpring, but retains its signature blend of exploration, crafting, and character development.
