Wardogs: Early Access sells millions of copies

In terms of commercial success, early access to new shooter Wardogs couldn’t be better. The craze initially caused server crashes, but this was also caused by the game selling millions of copies.

The early access version of the highly anticipated shooter Wardogs is definitely going to have some issues due to the onslaught of players, but the development team still considers it to be an unqualified success, especially commercially. Reason: Early versions of the game sold millions of copies.

As now announced, the shooter has taken Steam by storm, selling a whopping 2 million copies on the popular PC platform within a week. As a result, the game has been topping the Steam charts and looks to be doing very well in terms of player numbers.

Bulkhead and Team17 only released the shooter on September 10th. 1.25 million copies were sold on the first day alone, with an additional 750,000 copies sold in the following days.

In this game called “Total War FPS”, up to 100 players play in the sandbox and engage in tactical gun battles. There’s a large map with buildings and destruction mechanics, and the game itself is inspired by King of the Hill. Three teams compete for control of a 2×2 kilometer control zone.

There is currently no release date for the full version of Wardogs. It has been confirmed that the console version will be launched in 2028.
