“Civilization 7” players will be transported to the stars in the first paid add-on game “Earthrise”

Earthrise will be the first paid add-on content for Civilization VII strategy and will be released in 2027. The new chapter will see civilizations move from observing the stars to full-scale space exploration, while forcing them to adapt to a changing climate.

Early on, players will be able to study celestial bodies and turn astronomical knowledge into strategic advantage. With the advent of the modern era, humanity will transcend the atmosphere: civilizations will receive space agencies and will be able to launch missions to solar system objects and explore nearby planets and moons. Successful expeditions will discover new planetary features and resources that will aid the development of Earth nations.

Civilization 7 celebrates the series’ 35th anniversary with major updates and premium collections

The second major part of expansion has to do with the environment. New technologies and units will allow you to alter terrain and cell bonuses, adapting the territory to your civilization’s needs. Natural disasters exacerbated by global warming also require responses: players will be able to protect themselves from the consequences, or try to reverse climate change. The development of tundra, desert and tropical areas will bring additional benefits to the development of these biomes.

The developers are withholding some details for now. Over the next few months, they promise to reveal new game systems, additional content, and civilizations and leaders. Earthrise can already be added to your wishlist – it looks like Civilization VII won’t just be crowding out on Earth soon.
