
Paramount Pictures has officially greenlit a sequel to the successful zombie blockbuster. World War Zwith a global box office exceeding $540 million. Brad Pitt will return and will also be involved in the project as a producer through Plan B Entertainment. The director will be Edward Berger and the script will be written by Dennis Kelly.
There was originally an attempt to put a sequel into production ten years ago with David Fincher, but the project was frozen due to budget disagreements. The film found a new lease of life after the studio’s new management identified it as one of its main priorities and after Pitt and Berger’s successful collaboration on the thriller Cavaliers Let’s finally get the deal done.
