Brandon Sanderson finally dashed fans’ hopes in a recent interview that he would be able to finish George R.R. Martin’s cult book series A Song of Ice and Fire if he himself couldn’t. Despite the successful experience in Robert Jordan’s unfinished epic cycle “The Wheel of Time”the author stated that he respectfully declined such a role and considered himself unfit for the task.
Sanderson explained that if Martin decides to hand over the reins to another writer, he should find one who is a good fit for the dark and complex world of Westeros. Additionally, he stood up for his colleagues despite being criticized for years of delays “Winter Wind”pointing out that the author is making serious efforts and the fate of the cycle remains entirely in his hands.
