After becoming independent from Xbox, Double Fine used Kickstater to raise funds for new projects. Everything went well at first, but then the studio screwed up.
Instead of listening to those who gave them the money, she started a conflict. Therefore, as part of the Amnesia Fortnight 2026 event, connoisseurs of Double Fine’s creativity can choose the studio’s next game from the concepts presented by the studio. In three weeks, they raised more than $550,000 with the help of 6,739 fans, before the process stalled.
There’s a reason for that: after reaching the $600,000 mark, Ghost of Yotei’s Atsu Erika Ishii will join selected projects. Somehow, Tim Schaeffer’s followers didn’t appreciate this move. This makes many people not want to invest money in it, but want to get back what they have invested. However, Double Fine did not open the latter, but simply closed the comments in X.
