As we all know, the studio itself is the new owner of Undead Labs. After eight years under the Xbox umbrella, the team responsible for State of Decay has gained full independence.

At the same time, “State of Decay 3” is still under active development and is expected to enter closed beta at the end of 2026. Release is still planned for 2027 – upon release, the game will become part of the Game Pass subscription.
“State of Decay 3” is positioned as a game about survival in an open world. Years ago, a zombie apocalypse almost wiped out all humans on the earth. Zombies still threaten humanity, and the player’s task is to help the survivors survive.
State of Decay 3 confirmed for PC release (steam, microsoft store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. They promise zombie evolution, tough decisions, building and survival, four-player multiplayer, and Russian text translation.
