From September 22nd to 29th, Dune: Awakening will host an unusual Arakis Influence Battle. Streamers will choose either House Atreides or House Harkonnen, and their success will not only help earn in-game rewards, but also raise funds for charity.
Participants will complete challenges and earn experience for the academy of their choice. Accumulated XP will increase his influence, bringing the community closer to new stages of the campaign. Viewers can also intervene in the confrontation through commands in the broadcast chat to help their favorite side gain additional experience. Completing objectives will unlock cosmetic freebies including weapon skins, base cosmetics and murals, as well as the Broken Lands Raiders DLC. The streamer will decide when to launch the received giveaway on their channel.
But the main reward doesn’t just lie with Arrakis. As community impact reaches new thresholds, Funcom will open donations to “charity:water.” Amounts are capped at $20,000 throughout the campaign period. So water is indeed going to be expensive in Dune Awakening this week – but you don’t have to pay for it with spices.
