PAYDAY 3 received Anniversary Update 3.9, and Starbreeze decided to celebrate the game’s third anniversary with an update. The developers have opened up all heists, redesigned the campaign, and added new ways to change up regular builds.
The main change is that all heists in PAYDAY 3 are now free. Meanwhile, Crimebond Brute Force appears in the game with the OVE9050 weapon, which can quickly open doors, safes, and even deal with police. Some items in the set can be temporarily obtained through reputation, and the currency spent will be refunded when purchasing Crime Bonds.
The updated campaign ties existing robberies into a common story, expands on Shedd’s relationship with the gang and explains why the criminals are back in business. The system is also designed for future story campaigns. Also present are weapon perks, unique properties for iconic weapons, and the ability to make some modifications to a large number of guns.
Players gain access to Overkill weapon customization, a shooting gallery for testing builds, emotes, and reusable sprays, weapons, and masks. The developers have also disabled signature verification for .pak files, making it easier to build custom content. Owners of previously purchased Heist DLC will receive a special compensation mask.
