In August, studio Playground Games published the first part of a book by fictional historian Brian Bifford of Fableworld. The game introduces players to the events that followed the fall of the Tribunal of Three. It’s been over a month since that moment, and now there’s a sequel. The second excerpt tells About the formation of the old kingdom and the role of heroes in the formation of the new society.
- After the Tribunal of Three was defeated, the citizens of Albion began to build a new society under the leadership of their heroes. William Blake, considered the first hero, disappears from historical records after these events. Buford draws attention to this situation and acknowledges that William himself may have been a later invention.
- The heroes of Ball and Blood founded two large cities: Ballstone in the south, on the River Ball, and near Bloodstone Bay in the north. The cities were connected by roads, but soon began to compete with each other, leading to three wars between Bauer and the Strigoi.
- The heroes also created large buildings and works of art. Among those mentioned are Seawall, Pike’s Lighthouse, and Bloodstone Castle. Other heroes are known for their literary and artistic works, magical experiments, and creation of unusual mechanisms.
- Some heroes go out to destroy monsters and other creatures left behind by the Tribunal’s rule. In particular, archer Alice Armstrong killed the southern beast with one shot and founded the village of Arrowmark. Samuel Blackback burned much of Deep Woods, which later became Oak County.
- Gradually, the heroes became the aristocratic ruling class of the new society (the old kingdom). According to Buford, they expected obedience, admiration, and adoration from the residents, some of whom became brutal rulers themselves.
- Among these historical figures, the author mentions Brian Horrible, Henry Black Iron, and Diana Blooms. Their example made Buford wonder whether the people of Albion had replaced one cruel ruler with another.
At the end of the new segment, Fable’s fictional historian continues to question the accepted version of Albion’s history. He was not sure that society had become completely free since the fall of the Tribunal.
