Relic Entertainment has released a nearly 15-minute teamfight demo from Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4. The film centers on a 2 vs. 2 match between the Space Marines and Adeptus Mechanicus versus the Orks and Necron Alliance.
Four players turn ordinary confrontations into a constant struggle for initiative and territorial control. Furthermore, success depends not only on the strength of a single army, but also on how allies coordinate their actions and distribute key areas on the map.
In the demo, each faction follows its own strategy. The Necron are growing in strength, preparing to bring their heavy war machines to the battlefield, while the Orks bear the brunt of the Space Marines’ fire. This allows their allies to gain a foothold in important locations and gain upgrades.
The matches are long and the commentators analyze the players’ decisions during the battle and explain the impact of individual actions on the course of the battle. As such, the video clearly shows how teamfights with different faction combinations will play out in Dawn of War 4.
The new part of the series retains the foundations of the classic RTS from the Warhammer 40,000 universe: players must capture strongholds, control territories and develop armies directly in battle. Dawn of War 4 will be released on PC in December.
