Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor’s veteran studio Firaxis with support from Respawn and EA, has sold over one million copies worldwide, bringing in approximately $50 million in revenue to its creators.
The game received a Metacritic score of 86, making it the highest-rated Star Wars game in 22 years (since Knights of the Old Republic II 2004).
Analytical data shows that 69.9% of circulation comes from Steam, while PlayStation (19.9%) and Xbox (10.2%) together account for slightly less than one-third. However, due to regional prices, the console part brings about 40.1% of revenue.
The project is expected to attract fans of the series UFO (approximately one-third of players across all platforms) and avid fans of the Star Wars universe. The biggest fly in the ointment of this story is the news that most of the development team was furloughed before launch due to a lack of funding.
