Star Wars Zero Company, a tactical strategy game published by Bit Reactor, led by former XCOM art director Greg Foertsch, and backed by publisher Electronic Arts, appears to have become a hit.

“Star Wars Zero, Inc.” sales revenue reached $49.8 million (40% from consoles). Alinea Analytics said the results were worthwhile for a niche genre project, albeit under the Star Wars brand.

In anticipation of the release, Bit Reactor was forced to put up to 80% of its employees on unpaid leave. The studio has squandered most of its available funds and is now trying to stay afloat while waiting for a percentage of the game’s sales.
Rhys Elliott, director of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, expressed hope that the success of “Star Wars Zero Company” will allow workers to return to work: “They did some amazing things and they deserved to get it done.”.

Players in Star Wars Zero Company will lead a mercenary squad called Zero Company as they fight against their rival Kundry Fasome and her paramilitary cult known as the Infinity Coil at the end of the Clone Wars.
