Journalists wrote at the beginning of the summer that in September they planned to start assembling the Sollers S9 frame SUV, which is based on the Sollers ST9 pickup truck, at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) plant. September is no longer in the distant future, and one might say that the baton is being passed to October, but this news has not been confirmed until today.

Today Sollers Group officially declare Regarding the start of production of the first batch of S9. The car is produced using full-cycle technology, and unlike many Chinese and Russian productions, the body parts do not come from China but are manufactured directly on site.
The SUV will be available with a petrol or diesel engine, the choice of which will be made by the buyer. The transmission in both cases is a classic 8-speed automatic.
In general, Sollers pointed out that Sollers S9 production is highly localized: not only body parts are or will be produced in Russia, but also engines, electronic equipment, safety system components, etc.
The manufacturer plans to start shipping the SUV to dealership centers in December. Obviously, we’ll then get all the details on the new car’s trim levels and pricing.
