Remedy Entertainment has announced the third-person action game CONTROL Resonant, a sequel to the Control game. The game is playable on PC (steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S support Russian, but are not officially sold in Russia. The standard version is priced at $59.99.
“It took seven years. Not because of any one decision or mechanic, but to make sure the full depth of our design felt exactly how it should feel. It wasn’t easy, but there are no easy goals. We wanted to create something provocative. Something completely different from anything you’ve played before. We made a lot of mistakes. We remade elements from scratch, then threw them away, tried again and found the right path,” Kasurinen said.
CONTROL Resonant is a third-person supernatural action game that continues the story of the CONTROL universe. The main character is Dylan Faden, who has been imprisoned for years within the walls of the Federal Bureau of Control. As a new disaster spreads from the Oldest House and impacts Manhattan, Dylan is tasked with confronting an entity capable of warping the fundamental laws of reality. While exploring the affected areas of the city, he attempts to master his supernatural abilities, learn about his past, and find former FBK leader Jessie Faden. Familiar urban settings are constantly transformed as the environment is exposed to noise, mold, and other otherworldly phenomena.
Gameplay combines exploration, combat, and space puzzles. Dylan can use supernatural abilities and objects around him, and gravity anomalies allow him to travel through altered space and affect combat strategies. The development system can independently determine the direction of a character’s strengthening and adapt its abilities to various threats. A special place is occupied by transforming weapons, which can instantly change shape depending on the situation: from a heavy two-handed hammer to twin blades. As the plot progresses, Dylan forms connections with other characters, uncovers FBI activities, and discovers the nature of the threat spreading from the Oldest House to Manhattan.
