The Mozilla development team has expanded the functionality of the Firefox browser by launching a new interface type “Smart Window” in Beta testing. The feature aims to combine classic web surfing with the power of a built-in artificial intelligence assistant that can handle open tabs, history and the current page without compromising user privacy.
Key features of Smart Window include integration with the Exa search service to receive the latest answers with links directly in the chat window, automatic grouping of tabs and removal of duplicates, and a visual history preview to quickly find the sites you want. In addition, users can also choose their favorite AI model and manage the locally stored assistant “memory” to customize it for personal work scenarios. Currently, this feature is in beta testing for users in the United States, Canada, and France.
