Players noticed this week that the Xbox 360’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III servers are back up and running after a nearly year-long hiatus. Now, owners of previous generation Microsoft consoles can once again start multiplayer matches and earn multiplayer-related achievements.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III servers went offline on Xbox 360 in October 2025. Subsequently, players around the world encountered errors when connecting to the Call of Duty service and were unable to access the online portion of the project. However, Activision’s official status continues to show that the Xbox 360 version of “Black Ops 3” is still in production.
In April 2026, players were able to receive a response from Activision Support stating that the servers were online and providing them with standard methods for resolving connectivity issues – restarting the console and router, changing DNS, checking NAT, and other actions. However, the error still exists. It now appears that the issue has indeed been resolved, as the publication indicates real achievement.
It’s worth noting that these servers don’t work in Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Xbox 360, while they work fine on Xbox One and other platforms.
