The Xbox Play Anywhere program allows players to purchase a game once and access it on consoles and PCs. The feature is being added not only to new games, but also to some projects that have been out for quite some time. CD Projekt RED didn’t previously support Play Anywhere, but that’s about to change.
It is officially confirmed that with the release of “The Witcher 3 Remake” on September 29, the game will receive Play Anywhere. But previously, the developer had not disclosed plans to add support for this technology in “Cyberpunk 2077”. However, what players have discovered on the Xbox Store suggests that Play Anywhere will be joining the game soon.
user Reddit Noticed that Cyberpunk 2077 appears in the Xbox app for PC. It currently cannot be downloaded to PC, but similar situations have occurred with previous games such as “Hell is Us”, “RIDE 6”, “PGA TOUR 2K25”, and “Undisputed”. As a result, they all get Play Anywhere support. Typically, it takes 2-4 weeks from the time a game appears in the Xbox app on PC to being released on Play Anywhere.
Some of the games listed are also available through a Game Pass subscription as they are released on Play Anywhere. However, Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from Game Pass just a few days ago. Note that it’s only available as a subscription for Xbox One and Xbox Series X. S, there is no PC version in the Microsoft Store.
When Cyberpunk 2077 becomes available on Play Anywhere, owners of a copy of the game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X will also be able to play on PC.
