Bose has announced its return to wired headphones, launching new Bose noise-canceling wired earbuds with QuietControl active noise cancellation. The company’s launch coincides with the growing popularity of wired listening. The $99 headphones combine the convenience of a wired connection, no Bluetooth or charging required, and signature Bose sound.

Bose noise-cancelling wired headphones connect directly to compatible phones, tablets, and computers via a USB Type-C connector. They don’t require pairing or a special app, and they don’t require charging or using an internal battery, even with active noise cancellation.
The headphones use Bose’s patented SoundDesign digital signal processing technology. Using the USB Audio Class 2 (UAC2) protocol, the headset can accept input signals at any sample rate and bit rate while playing back at a fixed resolution of 24-bit/48 kHz. A direct wired connection also ensures minimal signal delay.
An inline remote with tactile physical buttons controls volume, playback, calls, and switching between noise-canceling modes. A special microphone on the back of the remote suppresses unwanted noise produced when the remote comes in contact with clothing. Bose QuietControl noise-canceling technology uses four microphones (two on each earbud) to continuously monitor, respond to, and minimize ambient sound.
Three listening modes let you easily adjust the sound to suit the situation: Quiet mode reduces external distractions, Aware mode brings in ambient sounds when the listener wants to know what’s going on around them, and No ANC mode lets you hear the original sound without additional processing.
Bose noise-cancelling wired earbuds come with a 1.2-meter cable, soft silicone tips in small, medium and large sizes, and stabilizing elements in medium and large sizes. The headphones are IPX4 waterproof and come with a zipper case for storage and protection. They come in black and white smoke, as well as a limited edition dewy mint color. Sales will begin on October 15th, with pre-orders available from now on.
