Game statistics service The Log released a weekly report on Korean Internet cafes in the fourth week of September 2026, documenting the astonishing growth in gaming activity. With the celebration of the traditional Korean Mid-Autumn Festival and the rich gaming activities, the total gaming hours nationwide jumped to 18.44 million hours, a month-on-month increase of 29.4%, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%, and the average club attendance rate was 18.7%.
The main driver of growth was sports game FC Online, which was named “Game of the Week” by the service. Thanks to a large Mid-Autumn Festival burning event and Nexon cash raffle ticket distribution promotion, its numbers surged by 95.4%, with daily market share reaching 17.5% on the peak day.
Other industry leaders also showed strong dynamics: shooter Valorant saw 36.6% growth due to the holiday event and the release of patch 13.06 and the new “Gauntlet: System Error” mode, Sudden Attack rose to sixth place due to the return of “UP Together” content, and MapleStory Worlds Great and Korean games showed strong performances from veteran seasonal and Korean games.
