SpaceRocket Games has unveiled a new story trailer for Permafrost, an open-world survival game set on a near-future Earth. After a series of disasters and the destruction of the moon, the earth has fallen into an endless winter, and humans must survive in the frozen ruins.
The protagonist will be engineer Gratchi, who knows how to repair equipment and build shelters, but has little familiarity with life in the wild. After receiving a signal from a long-lost friend, he set out across the ice and snow world to find the source of the message.
Players will explore cities and wildlife, hunt, mine resources, craft items, and repair abandoned shelters. You can survive alone or in co-op with up to four people. One of the main opponents will be the cold, which affects every outing and requires careful preparation.
Progress around the world involves restoring equipment and old cars, and Rook will have a rescued dog by his side. Pets can warn of danger, scout areas, and carry supplies, becoming an important part of the journey.
“Permafrost” will be released on Steam on October 9th.
