Creative Assembly and SEGA have released an overview trailer for Total War: Shogun 2 Definitive Edition, which was announced a few weeks ago and will be released on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on October 13, 2026.
In it, those involved in the creation of the re-release talk about key features of the new version of the game, such as improved graphics, interface, and controls, plus five dozen new mini-factions and built-in support for mod.io-based modifications. All this while retaining the historical campaign and online gameplay about unifying a fragmented feudal Japan.
The film also includes footage of the developer’s office: Mataboo’s Polish colleagues are helping the Brits at Creative Assembly breathe new life into Total War: Shogun 2.
