Game Informer has released another batch of details about GTA 6, talking about weather, wildlife, NPCs, and available activities. Leonida will be Rockstar’s largest open world, roughly twice the size of GTA V’s map.
One of the most eye-catching systems is Dynamic Wind. After sunset, sea breezes and updrafts occur, and buildings can affect the direction of air masses. Wind will be able to affect the character’s hair, debris, water, and vegetation. Additionally, the game will feature tropical storms and full-blown hurricanes, bringing with them torrential rain, lightning, thunder and strong wind gusts.
The fauna includes more than 170 species of animals, including more than 60 species of birds and 30 species of land mammals. Residents of Leonidas have been confirmed to include manatees, flamingos, pelicans, and alligators. Rockstar has also significantly expanded the diversity of NPCs: residents vary in height, body shape, skin characteristics, tattoos, hairstyles, body hair, and appearance.
Confirmed activities include BASE jumping, pool, gym, kayaking, mini golf, scuba diving, street and off-road racing, visits to the zoo, and airboat and jet ski rides. However, Game Informer notes that the list is far from complete.
Rockstar has yet to reveal the hurricane’s full impact on gameplay. New GTA 6 details and new screenshots should show how well these systems integrate with the open world.
