It’s Everyone’s Turn – Capcom Veteran Hints at Development of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 Remakes

The future of the Resident Evil franchise is once again in the spotlight with remakes, despite recent rumors that Capcom has decided to bypass the action aspect of the series. Company veteran and executive producer Jun Takeuchi hinted in recent comments that the studio has no plans to abandon updates for Resident Evil 5 and the controversial Resident Evil 6.

Previously, there were internal reports that after modernizing Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0, the Japanese publisher didn’t know how to approach Five and Six because of their focus on large-scale cooperative actions and controversial narrative tone. However, management’s comments make it clear: the company is sensitive to the demands of its audience and is ready to rethink the most complex parts of the saga.

If the adventures of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar in Africa were rethought in the context of the success of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the massive sixth installment with four campaigns will require the developers to put a lot of effort into mistakes and seriously modify the game design to adapt to the classic survival horror game.
