The South Korean tech giant has expanded its range of fully wireless headphones, moving beyond the usual in-ears. Galaxy Buds On fit snugly around the ear, keeping the ear canal open. This design allows users to hear surrounding sounds while playing music or making phone calls. An important advantage of the new product is that these headphones do not fatigue or cause ear discomfort when used for extended periods of time.
To optimally position the speakers and batteries, the manufacturer analyzed data on various ear shapes and performed appropriate simulations. Samsung Galaxy Buds On feature an ergonomic design with a larger contact area to help evenly distribute pressure; the manufacturer has precisely calibrated the elasticity of the arch for reliable retention during exercise.
The headphones are equipped with TwinBoost speakers for improved bass reproduction and an automatic volume control system that adapts to the surrounding environment. Claimed audio leakage reduction (Audio Leakage Reduction) feature – its distribution to external listeners is minimal. Samsung Galaxy Buds On uses Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 audio chip and has a high-performance Class D amplifier; the battery can play music continuously for 9.5 hours after being fully charged.
Supports Samsung Smart Clear Call technology: three microphones, a bone conduction-based voice pickup unit, and a machine learning algorithm to distinguish speech from background noise. The manufacturer guarantees that such a system ensures clear speech even in noisy environments.
In addition to good technical specifications and an unusual design, the Samsung Galaxy Buds On offer Galaxy AI functionality when paired with a compatible Galaxy smartphone or tablet. Supports launching Google Gemini via voice commands. There’s a feature to quickly save a voice note – to record it, you need to hold down the headset’s trackpad. You can use Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant to search for stored recordings without taking your phone out of your pocket. You’ll also need a Galaxy AI-enabled device and the Samsung Voice Recorder app; you first have to enable the long press feature in settings.
Samsung Galaxy Buds On headphones support head gesture control: you can answer and hang up calls, turn off alarms, and listen to message notifications when your hands are busy. The device will go on sale on October 27 and is currently only available in South Korea, in black, and priced at 299,000 won ($220). The company promises a release in other countries, but has yet to specify regions, prices, and dates.
