Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy introduces players to Lord Captain Aspis Chorda, a businessman with a dubious reputation, a sharp mind, and an impressive record of intrigue, betrayal, and bloodshed. Now fate brings her to Calixis, where she encounters the Inquisition.
Aspis was born into a noble Cintilia family, but she earned much of her fame in the firmament of Kronos. The Great Rift cut her off from her usual possessions, and as a result, the captain and other refugees ended up in Sintila. The local nobles are wary of her, the Imperial Navy respects her courage, and the Inquisition prefers to keep a close eye on her every move.
However, Aspis was not bored for long. When Sindila’s usual entertainment no longer impresses the spoiled nobleman, fate offers her a more interesting activity – participation in the investigation of the sacred Ordos. To ordinary people, such a prospect might sound like a death sentence, but to the merchants, they saw it as a perfect opportunity to relieve their boredom.
Now Aspis will become an unexpected ally to the aide leading the investigation. But working with a woman accustomed to seeking gain through intrigue and force may be as much a test for the servant of the Inquisition as the secrets he must reveal themselves.
