Focus Entertainment is about to launch Anniversary Update II, kicking off the third year of content for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. In addition, there’s a new siege mode waiting for you – and there’s more to come.
Developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment are continuing to build upon the successful title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 and launching hit action content into its third year. Anniversary Update II foreshadowed this and has now detailed it.
The release of this patch brings new content to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, including new game modes, progression mechanics, and more. Among other things, the focus is on the Chaos Siege mode, where you can take part in PvE battles as a Chaos Space Marine for the first time. You’ll have to deal with Tyranids, Cardians, and Loyalist Space Marines in two sectors of Avalax.
The Crucible system, on the other hand, tests your skills by imposing penalties on yourself in the form of debuffs or negative modifiers. Each completed mission brings you closer to new rewards, including a complete set of Lamentor armor.
Also new in the Anniversary Update:
-
One-handed thunder hammer: One of the community’s most popular weapons is finally here! It is available in the Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Technical Naval categories.
-
Hero weapons and equipment: The Armory now offers three new variants of the Power Ax, Auto Bolt Rifle, and a new one-handed Thunder Hammer, in addition to two new Pauldrons and a new Iron Halo.
The free update also comes with two cosmetic DLC packs that you can get with the paid Season Pass 3. The “Space Wolves Champion Pack” includes Bulwark’s Wolf Guard Champion look, which includes the Space Wolves shield and unique one-handed hammer, while the “Exorcist Cosmetic Pack” includes six skins inspired by the Empire’s legendary Demon Hunters.
Along with the release of the patch, a further roadmap for Year 3 is also presented. The game releases a major patch every season, bringing new PvP modes, controls, hero weapons, armor, and more. There are also always two accompanying cosmetic DLC packs with paid content.
