EVE Online developers have announced large-scale testing on the Singularity test server. The event will start at 22:00 Moscow time on October 2 and last until 15:00 Moscow time on Monday, October 5.
Testing is required to check future updates to the engine. These are mainly server changes, so there shouldn’t be any differences in gameplay. Developers have noticed one improvement: a steady increase in FPS. Players were asked to report whether performance was better than Serenity.
Organizers ask you to search and describe:
- Performance issues or improvements;
- Crashes, crashes, and unstable operation;
- Unexpected errors and technical issues;
- Everything behaves differently from Tranquil Island.
To participate, you need to change the server in the launcher from Tranquility to Singularity (the switch in the lower right corner) and log in as usual. You should then enter the in-game Mass Test channel: test instructions are located in the Message of the Day (MOTD).
The developers recommend setting graphics settings to maximum and updating the graphics card driver. It is recommended that macOS users install the latest version of the system available. Test server rules apply as usual: penalties for serious violations of Singularity can be transferred to Tranquility and affect, for example, participation in the Alliance Championship. A release date for the Tranquility engine update has not yet been determined.
Let us remind you that the developers recently discussed using Python 3 to modernize the game’s internal architecture, and Crimson Harvest will start on October 6th.
