Valve has released a new report on Steam gaming platform hardware statistics for September 2026, which is based on voluntarily submitted PC configurations.
AMD processors continue to methodically steal market share from underdog Intel. Their share has reached 48.37%, although just a few years ago this share was still significantly lower. But this is not the case with AMD graphics cards – the “green” graphics cards are pushing out the “red” graphics cards like a steamroller.
The Windows 11 operating system consolidated its leading position, with its share increasing by 0.37 percentage points to 71.34%. In terms of graphics cards, the desktop computer model RTX 5070 made a strong breakthrough, jumping 2.30%, accounting for 5.86% of the market share, followed by RTX 5060 Ti (3.87%) and RTX 4060 (3.72%).
The memory part is dominated by 32 GB RAM (42.22%) and 16 GB video memory (27.21%). The most popular resolution is still 1920×1080, accounting for 47.91%, although 2560×1440 has taken a breather (27.04%). Among virtual reality headsets, Quest 3 (26.90%) leads the way, while in terms of languages, English (34.20%) is followed by Chinese (31.93%) and Russian (9.05%).
