Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the final installment in the remake trilogy, “Final Fantasy 7: Revelations,” shared behind-the-scenes development details on the massive project in a new interview with Edge magazine. The director said that the main unshakable condition of the work from the beginning is to create each game as a complete and complete work, not just an intermediate link for display. The team deliberately constructs the narrative structure so that each issue ends with a peak of emotional tension – whether it is the escape from Midgar in “Remastered” or the tragic ending of the second act of “Rebirth”.
At the same time, the developers had to make significant sacrifices to maintain the ideal narrative pace. Hamaguchi admitted that iconic locations like Rocket City and Wutai were deliberately excluded from Rebirth because their addition would overload the game with information and disrupt the structure of the passage. In the final chapter of Revelation, the creators will pay special attention to Cloud’s arc. His character will soften significantly, and players will see a new side of the protagonist’s personality and the difficult relationship between him and his teammates.
