Japanese publisher Konami has no plans to freeze the horror franchise Silent Hill again after its recent return to the market. In an interview with Famitsu magazine, series producer Motoi Okamoto said that the company is already considering launching a second and even a third wave of new projects.

“All three games that we initially announced were successfully released, so we breathed a sigh of relief. They also received high marks, and we are satisfied with that,” — said Okamoto, summing up the work of his team since October 2022.
According to the producer, Konami is not going to stop with current releases: “The successful launch of this ‘first wave’ is a great relief, but we don’t stop here; we have to think about the second and third waves. We can’t share specific details, but we are currently looking at a number of projects.”.
Okamoto admitted that convincing management to finance several parts at once was not easy. “From my point of view, one remake is not enough; As a producer, I can’t let it end just like this.” – he emphasized.
The developers knew that after Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills was canceled in 2015, fans would be skeptical of empty promises. “If there was only one release, wouldn’t people think that development would be canceled again, I thought,” – Okamoto added. To regain the trust of the audience, Konami needed a large-scale plan: the publisher approved the simultaneous production of several games and additionally gave the green light for the release of free Silent Hill: The Short Message.
As for further releases, it is now official confirmedthat the Polish studio Bloober Team is creating a remake of the first Silent Hill. Konami intends to continue to adhere to the chosen strategy: transfer development to third-party teams, retaining only general control over the franchise.
