“Several modules of the data center are completely disabled”— stated in Yandex. Some services may operate intermittently due to the incident, they added. The company is currently assessing the consequences of the damage. “There were no injuries, people’s safety remains the top priority”– emphasized in Yandex.

The first incident occurred the day before – as a result of it, a fire. The fire was extinguished, but the operation of the facility had to be stopped. The damage as a result of the incident is being assessed, and the company could not confirm that the operation of the facility could be restored.

Due to the incident that occurred the day before, there were disruptions in the operation of some Yandex services, as well as other large Russian services, including Cyan, the electronic document management system of the Astral Group of Companies, and the Twinby dating service; there were interruptions in the work of Gosuslug, Avito, VKontakte and Russian Railways; Media websites were unavailable, including Vedomosti, RIA Novosti, Kommersant, Vesti IS, RBC and 3DNews.
