In late September, Donald Trump signed an executive order requiring all officials to use the term “superintelligence.” superintelligence) instead of “artificial intelligence”. Now the American president is ready to declare anyone who does not comply with this requirement an enemy of the United States.

From the pages of his social network Truth Social Donald Trump stated following: “The White House considers as an enemy anyone who uses the term ‘artificial intelligence’ instead of the widely accepted new and more accurate ‘superintelligence.'”. The US President, as is commonly believed, launched his campaign to change this name to improve the image of related technologies in public perception.
With the growing number of cybersecurity incidents caused by rogue AI agents, and as local protests against the construction of data centers in the United States spread, the concept of “artificial intelligence” has become associated with many negative aspects. Trump hopes, apparently, that “changing the sign” in combination with the measures taken to introduce audit will help reverse the negative sociological trend.
At the same time, the American president opposes slowing down the pace of development of the industry in order to increase the public safety of AI. He believes that such restrictions will give a competitive advantage to China, which is closing the gap with the United States in this area. Rewarding a group of leaders of American tech giants recently in Washington, Trump called the current period a “golden age” in terms of the development of science and technology.
On US government websites, documents and related links have already replaced the mention of “artificial intelligence” with “superintelligence.” However, the main Internet resource dedicated to this technology still contains the domain designation “ai.gov”. As noted earlier, Trump’s initiative to rename the technology caused an increase in demand for domain names in the “.si” zone, which are managed by Slovenia, and Elon Musk, who returned to demonstrate loyalty to Trump, promised to rename his startup SpaceXAI в SpaceXSI. At the same time, many delegates at the event, where Trump awarded representatives of the US technology industry with medals, were constantly confused in their terminology in their speeches, habitually mentioning “artificial intelligence” in the presence of the president.
The principle “whatever you name a yacht, so it will sail” is generally characteristic of Donald Trump, since for political purposes during his incomplete second presidential term, he managed to rename several geographical objects, including the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario, located on the border with Canada. The White House administration even stopped inviting journalists who refused to recognize the new toponyms to official press events.
