The Nothing Phone (1) will receive the Android 14 update very soon via the Nothing OS 2.5.2 overlay. This, after deploying the update on the Nothing Phone (2) (test) last December. Here are the new features that could land on the Nothing Phone (1).
As the startup confirmed in a forum, the update will be released in a staggered manner and not all regional models of the Phone (1) will receive it simultaneously. However, all Nothing Phone (1) users should receive the update in the coming weeks.
You should automatically be notified when Nothing OS 2.5.2 is available, but you can also manually check for update availability.
To do this, go to the settings of your smartphone, then to System > System update. From there you will be able to download and install the update if it is available on your smartphone.

The editing screen has been updated with a new layout for controls and options when customizing the home screen or lock screen. New wallpaper selections that add solid color options. New monochrome theme. New widgets for pedometer, media player and screen time. A better Weather app with improved weather alerts.
The Glyph interface
Added access to the music visualization section of the Glyphe interface. Improved the animation for the move to glyph gesture and syncing with device audio. New glyph animation when using NFC to complete a transaction.
Quick settings and controls
Added support for switching ring modes or profiles in the dropdown or quick settings setting. Added the ability to set or change the network in the drop-down list. The quick settings setting has been redesigned. Separately customize the ringtone and notification sound level in the volume control interface. The preview of previous screenshots is automatically hidden during a continuous screenshot.
Furthermore, improvements to the system were mentioned, including the new operating system. For example, Nothing revealed that the user experience should be smoother, while the system should be more stable. This update also promises to improve battery life and image processing.
