Recently, manufacturers of gaming monitors are increasingly releasing devices based on OLED matrices. Quite a few similar displays were presented at the recent CES 2024 exhibition. However, in addition to the high price, such monitors have another common drawback – the possibility of matrix burnout. To reduce the likelihood, vendors use a variety of technologies, but the risk still remains, which scares away potential buyers.
According to ASUS and MSI, expanding the warranty should push gamers to buy an OLED monitor. Both vendors emphasize that burnout of the OLED matrix will be considered a warranty case. ASUS notifies this in the description of its monitors, and MSI even issued a separate press release on this occasion.
We recently talked about the advantages of OLED monitors using the example of the MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED model.
