On Elden Ring, runes are of capital importance since they will allow you to pass your levels. So if we told you that there is a boss giving tens of thousands of runes from the start of the game, you would definitely be interested. This boss is Greyoll, a sleeping dragon, and we tell you everything about him in this article.
Summary of all our guides on Elden Ring
You might say that the first thing to do will be to find Greyoll, but that's not what we're going to advise you to do! Indeed, even if you arrive there and the latter does not respond to your knocks, she has a huge HP bar.
To be completely precise, she has 87,664 life points and to defeat it without spending two hours, you will need a weapon that is capable of inflicting bleeding. If you have one, you can move on to the rest of this article, otherwise go get the Uchigatana.
This is one of the best early game bleed weapons in Elden Ring and besides the Greyoll fight, you will enjoy having it with you. To help you get your hands on it, go to the Doom Catacombs indicated to you on the map above and follow this guide.
Once that's done, go to the point that we have indicated in red on the map below which indicates the location of Greyoll. To make things easier for you, you can use the teleporter indicated in black which will take you nearby.
Once there, all you have to do is position yourself on Greyoll's side and hit her. The idea will be to activate the bleeding to do the majority of the damage. It may take a while, but once dead, she will drop you no less than 50,000 runes!
50,000 runes is good. But what if we told you that it was possible to do even better! Indeed, there is an item and a consumable that will allow you to gain many more runes by defeating Greyoll. Let's start with the item, the Golden Scarab.
Please note, however, that this item is quite hard to recover and that if you want to have the runes quickly, it is probably better to do without them. But if you are sure of your strength, go to the deserted cave indicated to you on the map below.
Once there, defeat the side boss and as a reward, he will give you this Golden Scarab which is a talisman. If the latter is a little complicated to recover, this is not the case with the Golden Paw in brine which will give you 30% more runes!
The latter, it can be purchased from Pat and if you haven't found it yet, we leave you with our guide to this NPC and its secondary quest. Note that as we told you earlier, Golden Scarab and Golden Paw in Brine can be combined if you wish!
