Last week, information appeared on the Internet about Intel’s plans to release a family of Bartlett Lake processors. Initially, it was assumed that this name was hiding another “refresh” of Raptor Lake processors for the LGA1700 platform. According to the latest data, this is not the case, and Bartlett Lake CPUs are aimed at a different market segment.
Bartlett Lake processors are intended for use in the field of peripheral computing and telecommunications equipment, that is, they will become part of the Intel Network and Edge Group portfolio. In terms of architecture, the new chips will be close to Raptor Lake-S and will offer up to 24 cores/32 threads. Also mentioned is the possibility of releasing models with 12 “large” cores, which are not available on the LGA1700 platform.
Currently, it is difficult to say whether Intel is preparing similar desktop processors. Three families of chips have already been released for the LGA1700 platform, and in the second half of this year it will be replaced by LGA1851 along with Arrow Lake-S processors. Be that as it may, we can only wait for official details from Intel itself.
